So You Want To Be A Teacher Educator? The Job Advertisement As A Construction Of Teacher Education In Canada
This study explores how Canadian employment advertisements in teacher education are constructed as mediating artefacts in the relationship between potential candidates and their goal of gaining an academic position. The present study reveals both similarities and differences with concurrent WoTE (Work of Teacher Education) investigations in UK, Australian and New Zealand contexts. The authors argue that Canadian education faculties appear to be preserving a commitment to the conceptualisation and enactment of teacher education as a distinctive field of research and teaching. They emphasize, however, recruiting and retaining new or senior teacher educators should be of significant concern for the public and for prospective teachers.

This review seeks to move conceptions of the ways in which cooperating teachers participate in teacher education beyond commonly held beliefs to empirically supported claims. The analysis generate 11 different ways that cooperating teachers participate in teacher education: as Providers of Feedback, Gatekeepers of the Profession, Modelers of Practice, Supporters of Reflection, Gleaners of Knowledge, Purveyors of Context, Conveners of Relation, Agents of Socialization, Advocates of the Practical, Abiders of Change, and Teachers of Children.

The Mentoring Profile Inventory: An Online Professional Development Resource for Cooperating Teachers
This article reports on the origins, development and refinement of an online inventory to help cooperating teachers focus on selected dimensions of their practice. Results can be used individually or collectively to facilitate cooperating teacher professional development by providing the opportunity for dialog around a set of common issues.

The current study examines the potential of employing recent graduates to facilitate the learning of current students in a BEd program. The study included 46 participants. The authors argue that the use of recent graduates is a form of intergenerational learning that is characterised by knowledge-based, as opposed to age-based, generations. The authors refer to the Jared Phenomenon as a special instance of intergenerational learning. The authors define this phenomenon, describe the contexts which it is applicable and identify three dilemmas associated with the application of this phenomenon.

Additive and Disruptive Pedagogies: The Use of Slowmation as an Example of Digital Technology Implementation
The goal of this study was to explore the experiences of 35 preservice teachers as they were introduced to a new digital technology, “Slowmation”, as a “disruptive” pedagogy over a period of 12 months. The participants in the study were 35 preservice teachers from an elementary cohort. This study highlights the challenges inherent in introducing “disruptive” pedagogies in a teacher education program.

This interpretive case study investigates an attempt to add an online component—the On-line Literacy Project—to a successful face-to-face professional development community. Six members of the Literacy Project, which was carried out in the school board of a western Canadian city., participated in the study. Analysis of data showed that although participants acknowledged the potential of the Online Literacy Project the concept was poorly understood, received little support, and was not deemed relevant for a number of reasons, many of which are reported in the information and communication technology literature.

The article describes a comparison study of Australian and Canadian cooperating teachers. The authors contrast the local settings and draw on the differences with respect to the cooperating teachers' preparation and compensation for their role in practicum settings and the complex relations between schools and universities.
