This articler examines the transition that classroom teachers experience moving into the academy as teacher educators. The authors outline the findings of a qualitative case study that utilised self-study and teacher narrative to explore the road travelled by a group of new teacher educators in a regional university in rural Australia. The research explored patterns of experience between the authors themselves and the other participants. The authors conclude that it is important to recognise both the context and process of the transition in order to retain teacher educators in higher education.

The article evaluates the effectiveness of pre-service training that focuses on collaborative consultation and positive behavior support for treatment of challenging behaviors. The effectiveness of an 8-month training program is evaluated for three participant groups: (a) 16 advanced undergraduate and master's-level students who received the training, (b) 16 classroom teachers who participated as consultees, and (c) 16 target children (4 to 10 years) who exhibited challenging behaviors that interfered with their learning.

Forging a Pedagogy of Teacher Education: The challenges of moving from classroom teacher to teacher educator
This paper reports an investigation of the challenges a former classroom teacher encountered when compelled by experiences as a supervisor of student teachers to forge a distinct pedagogy of teacher education. A qualitative self-study methodology was used to identify and examine the competing tensions that surfaced as the author made the transition from classroom teacher to teacher educator.
