This article explores pre-service teachers’ expectations of their future teaching career, in particular concerning teacher– student interrelations. The author argues that teacher altruistic and narcissistic classroom expectations may help in predicting teachers’ student control ideology. He argues that humanistic control emphasizes the prominence of the student as an individual and the significance of creating an atmosphere in the classroom, in which students’ needs are satisfied. In contrast, custodial control obligates students to incontrovertibly accept their teachers’ decisions and directions of thought and action. Hence, teachers who espouse custodial control do not try to understand their students’ behavior or take it into account, as do teachers who espouse humanistic control, and view breaches of discipline by the students as absence of motivation or non-compliance to their demands as a personal affront.

The possibilities of reducing the danger of burnout can be based on regarding the professional self-efficacy crisis as the basis for understanding the burnout process, and will be presented below. 1. In this context, it is possible to operate on two complementary planes: (1) the establishment of collegial support groups, and (2) the nurturing of a supportive environment. 2. The task component and the teacher's professional performance. 3. Cultivating teaching styles that seek to target pupils' problems. 4. Stress management.

Over the last two years, a unique model for exploring teaching and learning has been created at Achva Academic College. This model, which is based on brain research findings and is called 'The Achva Neuropedagogy Model', focuses on teachers' teaching processes and on pupils' learning processes. It works toward implementing the brain research findings so as to ameliorate teaching and learning via a dialogue between neuropedagogy and educators, teachers, and principals. The experts, who hail from the fields of psychology, pedagogy, and brain research, present educators with relevant biological-neurological-psychological information, and the educators propose possible applications based on this information.
