Using a “communities of practice” approach, this case study explores the connections between teachers’ evidence-based decision-making practices and their efficacy beliefs.
The author analyzes interviews with four teachers in one school.
Findings indicate that teachers co-construct their efficacy beliefs in in their communities of practice. These findings suggest usefulness of communities of practice theory to more fully understand teachers’ efficacy belief development.
Findings also support the cognitive model of teachers' efficacy belief development.
