Effects of Immediate Feedback Delivered via Webcam and Bug-in-Ear Technology on Preservice Teacher Performance
This article describes the results of a research, which was conducted to evaluate the effects of using webcams and Bluetooth™ technology to deliver immediate feedback to special education preservice teachers in practicum placements from remote locations. Results suggest that immediate feedback provided via this technology was effective in increasing the targeted technique in all five preservice teachers who participated in the study.

Improving Preservice Teachers' Perspectives on Family Involvement in Teaching Children With Special Needs: Guest Speaker Versus Video
The current study examines preservice teachers' perspectives on family involvement in special education and effective teaching methods for delivering family-involvement content. Eighty-three preservice teachers provided data on pre- and postadministrations of a questionnaire. The effectiveness of two methods, a video and a guest speaker, in delivering curriculum concerning family involvement was compared.

In this research study, the authors produced enhanced podcasts by using Mayer's cognitive theory of multimedia learning to deliver selected uncovered course content. Two randomly assigned groups of undergraduate teacher education candidates interacted with either audio podcasts or enhanced podcasts across two experiments. Researchers measured recall and higher order application ability of students to determine which podcast method resulted in higher scores.

Exploratory Learning with Geodromo: Design of Emotional and Cognitive Factors Within an Educational Cross-Media Experience
This article presents Geodromo, which was designed to be an innovative prototype of an educational multimedia infrastructure. The main goal was to provide young students and general public with knowledge of important concepts in several domains—including geology, climate, biology, and archeology—related to the specific context of the Natural Park of Aire and Candeeiros Mountain Range located in the center of Portugal.

This study explored a situated learning environment implemented in an educational technology course where pre-service teachers worked collaboratively on meaningful real-world projects, assuming the role of professional teachers. The authors found that the students in the situated learning environment demonstrated sophisticated problem-solving skills, exhibited metacognitive awareness, produced coherent artifacts, and showed high levels of motivation.

The Multidimensionality of Multicultural Service Learning: The Variable Effects of Social Identity, Context and Pedagogy on Pre-service Teachers’ Learning
In this article, the authors are interested to assess the effects of pre-service teachers’ social identities, Multicultural service learning (MSL) contexts, and university pedagogy on pre-service teachers’ awareness of cultural bias, understanding of social inequality, and commitment to teaching diverse students. The authors collected survey data from 212 pre-service teachers engaged in 22 MSL sites.

This study was conducted to reveal how students perceived their experience of preparing portfolios and the effects of the portfolio process on their learning. The participants were 35 fourth-year biology student teachers enrolled in the course ‘Assessment and evaluation’ in the Faculty of Education at Karadeniz Technical University, Turkey. Five themes were drawn from the analysis of the students’ written reflections in their portfolios, regarding how they perceived the portfolio process and its effects on their learning.

The current article describes the experiences of elementary education majors during their social studies methods course. The authors used digital primary sources to teach historical perspective and to model historical inquiry teaching strategies for use in elementary classrooms. The students indicated that their experiences were positive and that digital resources had great potential for elementary classroom use.

In this paper, the author argues that it is useful to look at three sets of relationships involved in gauging the impact of teacher education programs on P–12 student learning. These three sets are the impact of the teacher education program on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and dispositions; the impact of the teacher’s knowledge, skills, and dispositions on her or his practice in the classroom; and the impact of the teacher’s practice on P–12 student learning.

The current research aims to add to the body of knowledge about different types of feedback. This paper reports the investigation of different types of automated model-based feedback. The study examined three forms of model-based feedback using different methods-concept mapping and written text-for presenting the solution of a task to be solved. Seventy-four students from a German university participated in this experimental study and were randomly assigned to one of the three experimental groups: (a) cutaway feedback, (b) discrepancy feedback, and (c) expert feedback.
